A művészről
Kristina Schuldt (sz. 1982, Moszkva) festményein minden folyamatosan változik, alakul, mozog. Torzított, destruált, elemeire bomlott emberi alakok – többnyire nők – kompozícióinak főszereplői, amelyek gyakran növényi motívumok, épületrészletek vagy éppen természeti tájak között jelennek meg. Az alkotó előszeretettel alkalmazza a művészettörténeti korok, a 20. századi izmusok sajátosságait, azokat kisajátítja, majd autentikusan formálja. E metódusnak köszönhetően a létrehozott látványok ismerősnek hatnak, valós szituációkra, helyzetekre emlékeztetik a nézőt, azonban a kép terén belüli szürreális rendszer mégis megzavarja a befogadás aktusát és kimozdítja a nézőt a statikus pozícióból. Schuldt munkáiban a mozgás és a dinamizmus azonban nemcsak a testrészek áramlásából, széteséséből, a Léger művészetét idéző csőszerű lábak és kezek összegabalyodásából, valamint a vitális növényi motívumok burjánzásából fakad, hanem a többféle perspektíva egyidejű működtetéséből is. Az alkotó legfrissebb munkájában az egyes részletek egymásmellettisége érvényesül, ezek az eltérő dimenziójú, minőségű és vizualitású részletek ütköztetése töredezetté teszi a kompozíciót. Az összekapcsolódó részletek a kép terén belül különböző helyeken jelennek meg, így a nézőnek olyan érzése van, mintha egy rejtvényben találná magát, amelynek megfejtése teljesen rá van bízva.
