About the Artist
Eike Berg was born in Germany, but he has become a central figure of Hungarian video art, as he had lived in Budapest for more than a decade. Besides his video works, he also creates computer-based light and sound installations, lightboxes, as well as 3D simulations, photos, and site-specific installations. Experimentation is an essential in his work, but a traditional sculptural approach is also detectable. He often builds peculiar structures to be the intermediary of his works, geometric constructions or strange shelves to hold his glass or other sculptures. He is primarily interested in space and time, reality and fiction. In the virtual spaces created by him, he strives for washing away the differences between the inner and outer, real and fictional, while often using his own body in his artworks.
