Gábor Pintér:

The Erika Deák Gallery is delighted to present the most recent paintings of Gábor Pintér, one of the most exciting painters of Hungary’s younger artist generation. On Pintér’s fourts solo exhibition in the gallery, he again reveals his emblematic stylistic characteristics, his strong story-telling ability, his talent of uncovering a complex narrative in which multiple moments are visualized at the same time. Ordinary situations became surreal adventures on his large scale canvases, parts of the bodies disappear, expressions get enlarged, and movements extend into undefined spaces. We seem to be watching a film that was unexpectedly stopped between two screens. Furthermore, he refers to popcultural icons and to classics of art history. He combines the different styles from abstract, throught realistic portrayal and arrives to the style of Lowbrow.
Gábor Pintér was born in 1983 in Budapest. In 2008 he graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. In 2007 Pintér won the Ludwig Prize. His works were exhibited in the Hungarian National Gallery among others, and his paintings are part of several Hungarian and international private collections.
